Mobile Foot Care in Tibshelf
JB Mobile Foot Health
I have been a fully qualified foot health practitioner since 2011 and provide a full range of mobile foot care services in Tibshelf. Being a member of The alliance of private sectors practitioners I keep myself updated with regular CPD training.
My foot health services include:

Toenails Trimmed
I am fully trained in toenail trimming providing a pain free technique that helps reduce ingrown toenail formation and remove any that may be present.
Good nail care is important for people with poor blood flow and diabetes, both of which can lead to lower healing rates even from small cuts so it is important to ensure toenails are trimmed carefully.
Elongated nails can apply pressure to the skin which can create wounds turning into ulcers or isolated infections. Regular toenail trimming keeps nails in shape and allows me to identify any potential problems early.

Callus Removal
A callus is the build up of hard skin, they are usually found on the underside or heel of the foot and are caused by uneven distribution of weight or improperly fitting footwear. They will look like hard, thick patches of skin.
Without treatment a callus can become inflamed, ulcerated or infected over time. If a callus is allowed to grow it can make it difficult to wear footwear.
To treat the callus it is removed with a sterile surgical blade. Once removed any pain will be relieved and any altered function should be resolved.

Verruca Treatment
Verrucas are caused by an infection of your skin and can spread from person to person. It is the Human Papilloma Virus and most commonly found on the soles of feet.
If a verruca is not treated it can multiply with the skin surrounding the verruca becoming infected too, especially if you scratch them. Verrucas are normally painless but hard skin can build up around it which can be uncomfortable. If the verruca is in a place where it rubs such as between toes this can cause some discomfort.
The are a range of options to treat a verruca. I will asses the verruca first to decide which is the best option.

Corn Removal
Corns form on the skin from repeated pressure or friction. A corn is a small tender area of thickened skin which appears on the top or side of a toe and looks like a rough, yellow patch of skin that is round or raised.
If a corn is not treated it can become painful and make it difficult to walk. They can also lead to infections such as foot ulcers.
To relieve the pressure the corn is removed by a combination of soaking the skin to soften it and then filing away the corn being careful not to remove too much skin. Moisturising and padding then protects the area until fully healed.

Ingrowing Toenails
Ingrowing toenails can be caused by incorrectly fitting shoes or poor nail trimming technique.
Untreated ingrowing toenails can become very painful and get infected which can become a big problem.
The removal of an ingrowing toenail should be performed by a professional using properly sterilised equipment to prevent infection. It my require the area to be numbed before the ingrowing part of the nail is carefully removed.

Fungal Nails
Fungal nails can occur if your feet are frequently moist or you often wear sweaty socks/shoes. The fungus can cause the nail to become discoloured, thick and cracked.
If left untreated the fungal infection can spread to the surrounding skin on the foot and cause other conditions such as athlete's foot which can be very uncomfortable.
A fungal nail will normally require treatment to help it go away with a combination of good nail trimming and oral medication.

Deep Tissue Massage
If you suffer from foot pain a deep tissue massage can help to ease the pain.
The massage combines forceful strokes that target deeper muscle layers helping to improve circulation, stimulate muscles and reduce tension. This can also help with help with reducing pain from plantar fasciitis.
A deep tissue massage is perfect for anyone who suffers from muscle damage, chronic injuries or stiff, painful joints.
